Wow..I haven't blogged in a while. Sorry. So yeah...I survived the Hurricane. lol.
I haven't really been crocheting a lot. I've been busy doing other things. But I did finally try crochet illusion. I was really excited. I like the illusion knitting, but just like regular knitting, it was too slow for me. So when I heard about crochet illusion, I had to research it and figure it out. So I found a group on yahoo groups and when they finally accepted me, I was able to get some of the patterns. I decided to make a heart scarf.
So here it just likes a striped scarf...
And here, you can see the hearts!
Yayy! It's really pretty. I'm very proud.
And now I get to hurry and make some Christmas presents! And this blog kinds seems random when I am rereading it, so.. sorry.

Hunkering down
Hurricane Ike is on its way. Yayy. Michaels finally closed yesterday at 3. But now I am just really bored. I am trying to figure out what Hurricane projects I want to make.
I have been trying the crochet socks the past week, but none are turning out the way I like. Most of them are too big. The ones that were closest to almost being my size, were cabled, but I didn't like the way the striped yarn was doing the cables. But now I am thinking I should just make those since those might be the only ones that would fit me.
I also need to make Linda a post-leaving Michaels blanket since I didn't get her anything before she left. I haven't figured out what pattern I want yet. I was thinking another round ripple because that was actually fun. And she wont know shes getting the same one as Stela. :P Oh, crap. She might now. hehe.
Well, that is all for now. I need to figure out the patterns I want before the hurricane gets here. Which I guess I still have all day, but I am easily distracted and might end up playing DS instead.

Updates...so many....
Well, I forgot that I hadn't updated this since before vacation. Yeah, so I got absolutely nothing accomplished on vacation. I was working on J-liz's dance shrug, but it was too small so I ripped it out, and worked on it when I got back home. But it is finished now if you want to see it.
It is black, and I was wearing black, and I am too lazy to take another pic. Sorry. And I did finish one skull on my skull illusion scarf, but its still gonna take forever.
And then I bought a bought a crocheted Christmas stockings book and wanted to make the Carrot Stocking. I am not really sure why. I like bunnies, and bunnies like carrots, so it made sense to me. And we had lots of orange yarn that we didnt know what to do with. So it was perfect. haha. I have finished the carrot and still need to do the leaves. I think I have one leaf done out of eight. Here is the carrot:
And then I also bought some Glow in the Dark yarn. I just had to have it. Weird, I know. So I made a headband. I didnt know what else to do with the very small skein (1.4 oz). It does glow...pretty neat.
And now I am crocheting a round ripple blanket for Stela at Michaels. She has been the floral designer there for several years and she is leaving to go to another store closer to her house. She is always complimenting me on my skills and how creative I am and I feel bad for just now thinking that I should make her something. She will be leaving very soon. And I also feel bad because Linda is gone now. I didn't think to make her anything. Gah. Linda has been there for almost the opening of the store. She was only a couple months behind. Oh well. Here is my round ripple in progress.
Um, I think that is my updates for now. I guess I need to blog more so I am not listing so many projects all at once. haha.

what to do?
So I am leaving with my parents to go to South Dakota on Sunday. We are driving as usual, so I will have a lot of free time. I am trying to figure out now what I want to do. I kinda cleaned my room today and I found a some UFOs. The most recent ones are my socks (that are messed up and I haven't decided what I want to do with them) and the skull illusion scarf. Some ones that apparently have been there a while are the tortoise and a skully shirt that I will probably frog. The tortoise just needs to be sewn together. Maybe I can do that before we leave if I can get in the mood. I also bought two new books the other day. One is Cute Little Animals and the other is Amigurumi World: Seriously Cute Crochet. Both have some really cute animals in there I want to make. But I don't think I should bring too many new projects to start because I know I will also have my DS and my NASCAR romance novels that I also forgot I had that I found while cleaning. haha. Is it weird that I spend more time trying to figure out what projects I want to bring than what clothes and everything else I want to take? Of course the yarn is more important than anything else! Well I guess I will go back to trying to finish cleaning my room. Maybe I can find some more goodies!

Moo
Huh, I haven't posted on here in a while. I'm sorry. I guess I was too busy with school. I guess I don't have to worry about that for a while. :)
Anyways, I havent really crocheted much in a while. I've been distracted by my DS. Oops. But I did make some camels. They are kinda cute.
I made two- one for me and one for Jesseliz. We rode the camels at the rodeo, so I made them for us to always remember...awww. One is going to be named Hanna and one will be Miley. haha, get it? We rode them the day Hanna Montana was there. No, we did not go to the concert.
I've been in an animal mood now. I'm kinda working on an elephant. I'm not sure how long that is going to take. I keep getting bored with it. I also have a dolphin and a turtle on my queue. hm...
And I still haven't gotten very far with my knitted skull illusion scarf. It hurts my hand. I haven't tried it in a while, maybe I should do a couple rows.
That is all for now. I will try to crochet more and play DS less. haha, yeah right.

FO- Celestine Crochet
I finished my star thing earlier this week. I’m really excited. It’s really nifty. I was kinda complicated to make, but I enjoy stuff that involves like math and stuff, so it was fun to make. Oh, and it jingles. You can’t really tell that by the picture. Linda at work told me I should put a vibrator thing in it so it’s like one of those bumble balls, but I think I would have too much fun with it if I did (Take that however you want :P ).
Before I finished it, people seemed to think it was a hat. I guess it didn’t help that I kept putting it on my head. But I am seriously thinking about making another one similar but actually making it into a hat. Not going all the way around and just doing about half way. But that’s just me talking; I doubt that I will actually do it.
Now I don’t know what to crochet next. I was thinking about a newsboy cap thing, but I don’t know. That’s been on my queue for a while now. I’ll see if I can find anything that pops out at me.

Classroom
So...I guess I have known about the classroom thing for a couple weeks now. I dont remember when I found out exactly. For those of you who dont know, Michaels has decided to cancel all classes with the exception of Wilton cake decorating. It makes me real sad. So the last couple weeks, I have been cleaning out the classroom and just keeping stuff on the approved list. It made me all sad. And of course I took pics. So here are my before pics with everything pouring out of the cabinets and my after with everythng labeled and all pretty like. So yeah...
(This was after I already started cleaning, it wasnt nearly this empty.)
And these are the after.
Of course you can really tell being there. Pic dont show it all real well. Especially since I'm a crappy photographer. But it was a big difference. I threw so much away. And got so high off all the cleaning fumes. Man...
Anyways. Yarn. I havent made anything in a while. I was making shamrocks, but got discouraged because there was no point. Everyone at Michaels wouldnt need to advertise for my classes or anything. And I just havent had time. I found this really neat star thing I want to make. I'll try and start that sometime. So yeah. Thats all for now.

Why did the monkey fall out of the tree?
BECAUSE HE WAS DEAD!
haha. That is my favorite joke....ever. One of my brothers made it up. I laugh every time I tell it. I know, I'm a nerd.
Anyways, speaking of monkeys, I made a sock monkey puppet.
Isn't he cute? I am so happy. What really frustrated me was when I finished at like 10, I only had one googly eye. So I had to wait till the morning to go buy Michaels and get some more googly eyes. Poor monkey.
I am really glad I found this pattern. Before my nephew was born almost 2 years ago, I wanted to make a sock monkey, but couldn't find any free patterns. I did see there was a book out there, but I couldn't find it in stores, and I didn't want to just order a little book on the net. I think I ended up making a little blanket and hat I found in "Happy Hooker". Haha, and the brother that made up the monkey joke is the one with the kid that I made the blanket for. How cute. So yeah. I like free patterns. Especially ones as cute as this one!

ACK! No more blankets!
I finally finished Brandy's afghan yesterday. And just in time- her last day is Friday. I don't think I should be saying this, but it is no where near perfect. The stupid yarn says "No dye lot" and it is all "Soft Pink 7706" but some of it is a brighter pink than the others. And of course I didn't notice until I was on my third skein, and by then I wasn't going to rip it out and use all of the same color. But it is not too noticeable I guess. You just have to be in the right light and actually looking for it. I'm sure Brandy won't notice. And I will try and not tell her. :P
Well, here are the pretty pics.
And now I can take a break from blankets. I think I am going to make little heart pins for everyone at Michaels now. That is easy enough and won't take aways from my school work.

The eagle is ready to soar
I finally finished the eagle blanket yesterday. I had finished the design a week or so ago, but the blanket was not long enough, so I had to add more rows. But is is now long enough. I decided not to do a border around it, just because I am lazy and it looks fine without one. I just need to work in some ends a little bit better now.
And now I am working on another afghan. (arg!) My store manager is leaving and she asked if I would make her a afghan as her going away present. Of course I couldn't say no; she has been my manager for over 4 years now. But I have to make sure I finish it in time. I just started on it, and with school starting next week, I am not sure if I will have enough time. I guess I will need to find the time. And I will be carrying the afghan around with me everywhere.
Well, that is all for now. I will go back to crocheting afghans!
